Ndafunga Kure

TBGA was involved in the preparation, shooting, production, and post-production of the short movie. We were also focusing on giving amateur actors a platform to showcase their talents. The initial idea was to promote and launch the movie online, but when the sponsors saw the final product, they were so impressed and pushed for us to make a bigger fuss of the production. Overview

The 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence is a worldwide initiative that attracts attention and inspires introspective conversations. In 2021, partly as a result of the success of the HOWFAR Campaign, and also partly because of the name we have created for ourselves over time, three CSOs came together and funded a production to campaign against Gender-Based Violence. This production was called Ndafunga Kure, which loosely translates to “I have a lot on my mind” and this spoke to how many abused women do not often feel comfortable enough to speak on the issues that affect them and end up keeping it all to themselves.
